What is collision coverage?

Oftentimes people think that because they have property damage coverage that their car is covered under that provision. That’s not the case. If you’re at fault for a car accident, if you don’t have collision, your car’s not getting fixed through your insurance company. Collision can also come into play even if you’re not at fault and the person who’s at fault doesn’t have any insurance at all, then you’re going to have to go through your insurance company unless you want to pay out of pocket and that policy is collision in order to get your car repaired.
